March 26, 2025 (Honolulu, Hawaiʻi) – Day 3 of the 76th PIHOA Executive Board Meeting kicked off with open sessions showcasing key regional initiatives and programmatic progress across the US-Affiliated Pacific Islands (USAPIs).
Morning Highlights included:
- A compelling virtual address by Sir Collin Tukuitonga on Pacific health system resilience.
- Progress on the SHIP Field Epidemiology Training Program and its journey toward TEPHINET accreditation.
- Updates on laboratory systems strengthening, data exchange systems, and regional lab attachments.
- Insights from ongoing health workforce enumeration and public health wins surveys.
- A spotlight on maternal and child health efforts, including results from the USAPI MCH survey and maternal mortality review projects.
- Celebration of progress toward eliminating lymphatic filariasis in American Samoa.
The afternoon closed session centered on internal board business: reviewing financial reports, refining PIHOA’s strategic direction, and preparing for upcoming regional engagements.
The day ended on a high note with a PIHOA-sponsored dinner reception at the Hilton’s Village Green Lawn, celebrating our collective efforts and community spirit.
