March 27, 2025 (Honolulu, Hawaiʻi) – Day 4 of the 76th PIHOA Executive Board Meeting featured the Pacific Discourse Series, a full-day convening focused on some of the most pressing and emerging challenges across the U.S.-Affiliated Pacific Islands (USAPIs). The conversations brought together regional leaders, global health experts, and government representatives for a powerful exchange of insights and strategies.
Three key panels anchored the day’s agenda:
Health Security and Resiliency
Health Policy and Advocacy
Paradigm Shifts in U.S. Policies and Global Health
The third panel, in particular, offered a timely and candid dialogue featuring Governor Dr. Josh Green of Hawai‘i, and other prominent voices in Pacific health and governance. Panelists reflected on the shifting federal landscape under the new administration, sharing both concern and foresight. The discussion focused on how evolving U.S. policy directions may impact health funding, regional partnerships, and strategic planning across the Pacific. Leaders emphasized the importance of collective action and proactive engagement to navigate the changes ahead.
From health diplomacy to policy innovation, Day 4 served as a space for critical reflection and renewed commitment to regional resilience. These dialogues continue to shape the path forward for health leadership in the Pacific.
