April 2, 2025 (Fiji) Dr. Gillian Dunn, PIHOA’s Regional Health Information Systems & Health Security Coordinator, recently participated in the Pacific Public Health Surveillance Network (PPHSN) Strategic Framework Planning Workshop, held in Fiji from March 31 to April 2, 2025.

This landmark workshop brought together public health leaders and stakeholders from across the Pacific to begin shaping a new 10-year strategic framework (2026–2035) for the PPHSN. As the region faces increasing climate-related health threats and other emerging challenges, this initiative is a critical step toward strengthening health security and resilience across the Pacific Islands.

The evolving PPHSN framework will serve as a roadmap to guide collaborative efforts in surveillance, preparedness, and response—ensuring the Pacific is better equipped to protect the health of its people in the years ahead.

Stay tuned as this important work continues to unfold and shape a safer, healthier future for our Pacific communities.
